Sometimes the simple pleasures in life are the most enjoyable and unforgettable, and for young families slowing down and connecting with nature and each other can make for the best memories and relaxation.

Day 1 - Hervey Bay Esplanade

Fly or drive to Hervey Bay, Qld.
Check into your accommodation and head to the Esplanade (Torquay Beach) for some family fun. Hire a jet ski, kayak or SUP from Fraserjet and make lasting family fun memories as you enjoy the calm aqua waters of Hervey Bay. Alternatively set up a beach picnic, swim, walk or hire a bicycle or scooter to explore the Esplanade, shops & eateries.

Day 2 - Turtle Discovery Tour 

The Milbi glass bottom boat will navigate through the natural beauty of the Great Sandy Strait Marine Park taking you to a pristine  local island where you will be received by a warm indigenous Butchulla Welcome to Country.
You can swim in the clear waters or walk the sandy beaches, snorkel the coral gardens and listen to Dreamtime stories directly from the Butchulla guide. ​Come face-to-face with the infinite wonders of the marine park, you are likely to see fish habitat amongst the coral reef, turtles, dolphins, sea bird colonies, and possibly a reef shark or dugong.

This is a lovely 4-hour family cruise tour that will unite and touch everyone with nature and culture.

Day 3 - Whale Watching Cruise

If you are lucky enough to be visiting during Whale Watching season (July-October), the family must experience an inspirational Hervey Bay Whale Watching cruise.
You will cruise to Platypus Bay on a comfortable catamaran where you will experience the magic of majestic Humpback Whales playing around you.
Immerse yourself with these gentle giants from the purpose designed vessel’s large decks, including a water level viewing platform and underwater viewing windows. Children can also take advantage of the Whale Warrior Program Pack providing kids with fun and educational activities.

If it's not Whale Watching season, there are lots of other fun family things to do in Hervey Bay such as the award winning and free Wetside Water Park on the Hervey Bay waterfront at Pialba, or the Reef World Aquarium on the beachfront at Urangan. Another popular pastime for a few hours is to drop a line in fishing from the Urangan Pier.
